Tampere based Emtele Oy announces that its business operations have been transferred to a new company, Emtele Automation Oy, as of 1 February 2024. The transition is part of the company’s ongoing development and its commitment to ensuring sustainable growth in the future.
Emtele Automation Oy has been founded by key operational personnel of Emtele together with private investors, with the purpose of continuing Emtele’s business. All employees will transfer to the new company under their existing employment terms. The asset deal does not affect customer relationships, and existing cooperation agreements will continue under the same conditions. Having the business acquired and continued by current key personnel and investors ensures long-term commitment and the continued delivery of high-quality services.
Tuomas Kumpula—one of the investors and an entrepreneur who originally co-founded Emtele in 2005—has been appointed CEO of Emtele Automation Oy. Kumpula is also a founding partner of Geniem Oy and Flockler Oy, both of which have since been acquired by a Finnish private equity firm and a U.S.-based SaaS company.
“We see Emtele as a highly skilled team with competitive services and a strong customer base. Our goal is to remain a trusted partner for our clients and strengthen Emtele’s expertise and service offering also at an international level,” Kumpula says.
According to Kimmo Kaitala, Chairman of the Board and investor in the new Emtele Automation, Emtele’s service portfolio and customer relationships form a solid foundation.
“The fault indication services in particular are industry-leading, with growing international demand. Finland is a global forerunner in distribution grid remote control and fault location, and I see a significant opportunity here for an innovative European service technology company,” Kaitala comments.
Joonas Koivuniemi, former CEO of Emtele Oy, will support the new leadership during the transition period. He expresses confidence that the new ownership structure provides excellent conditions for continued growth and development.
“I am especially pleased that the key people who have contributed so much to the company’s success are now also becoming significant owners,” Koivuniemi concludes.
